FAQ’s
Does a brazilian wax hurt?
Everyone’s pain tolerance is different. Typically your first wax will be the most uncomfortable and that’s just simply because your hair is currently at its thickest and most coarse. With each wax, your hair will get thinner and more sparse making the process more comfortable. We always recommend waxing at least 2 times with 4-6 weeks in-between before making a final decision if waxing is for you.
How long does my hair have to be?
You will want to grow your hair out for 3-4 weeks or have it be as long as a grain of rice. After each wax you will wait anywhere between 4-6 weeks.
Can I shave between waxes?
Shaving in-between waxes disrupts the syncing of your hair cycles. For optimal results do not shave between appointments.
How long will I be hair free?
Every client’s hair growth cycle is different but most will find themselves hair free for 2-3 weeks. With consistent waxing your hair will start to grow back more sparse making it easy to go in-between waxes.
Am I a good candidate for waxing?
If you are someone who struggles with ingrown hair and irritation from shaving, waxing is a great alternative. Keep in mind that an aftercare regimen that includes exfoliation is encouraged to see the best results.
How often should I get waxed?
You should get waxed every 4-6 weeks for best results.
Can I go to the pool after my wax?
You will need to wait 24 hours. The freshly waxed area can be susceptible to bacteria in the water. When you do get to go to the beach/pool, make sure to wear SPF on the waxed area since it will be more sensitive to the sun.
How often do I need to exfoliate?
You should start manually exfoliating (dry brush, shower glove, etc.) 24 hours after your wax and continue to exfoliate 2-3 times per week. If ingrown hair becomes an issue then you will need to exfoliate 4-5 times per week by adding a chemical exfoliation product into your routine.
Can I get waxed while on my period?
Yes, but you can be a little more sensitive. Just make sure to put in a fresh tampon or menstrual cup before the appointment and you are good to go.
Can I have a friend in the room with me?
For safety reasons friends/spouses/children are not allowed in the room during your appointment. Giving an excellent service requires not only my focus but yours. Unfortunately, another person would be a distraction to us both.
Can I get waxed if I’m pregnant?
You can absolutely get waxed throughout your entire pregnancy. Everything we do is surface level and will not harm the baby. Waxing is pregnancy safe! (check you aftercare ingredients)
I’m really sensitive to waxing. I always get red. Why?
You are probably reactive not sensitive, reactive skin is common and normal. Adverse reactions to waxing are rare but always speak to your waxer if you have any concerns.
Is waxing permanent? Will my hair grow back?
Waxing the hair is not a permanent hair removal method. Your hair will grow back but will be much thinner and more sparse.
